Jay's 2 Month Update... They see me rollin'

Forgive me, I'm going to sound like a broken record a lot on
these updates because every month that passes I am
amazed at how fast the time goes. Our (not so) little
man is TWO months old today!

This month has given me some extra freedom as I have started
pumping (yay!) and have the ability to leave Jay with his
grandparents if I need to. I can't remember if I mentioned it
in my last post, but it has been such a blessing to live in the same
town as both my parents and Scottie's. Not only is it
helpful for us to have two sets of loving babysitters
right around the corner, but I'm so excited for Jay to
have both sets of grandparents be so present in his life.

Jay got his first set of shots at the doctors, and I think it was harder
for me than him. Don't get me wrong, the boy screamed, but within
a minute he was asleep in his car seat. Tough little guy =)

It is so much fun watching him develop. Every day he gets bigger
and does new things. Mornings are the best with him.
After a nice meal and clean diaper this baby is SO happy and talkative.
I want to just squeeze him in the mornings, but instead of risking
his safety I just take a bunch of pictures.
We work a lot on "tummy time"
throughout the day because after about 5 minutes of
it he is SO over it.
Yesterday we were doing tummy time on the floor
and OH MY GOSH, y'all.. He ROLLED OVER!!!
I seriously was in such shock that I kept saying "you're not going to roll over are you?
Are you rolling over right now?!" I wish I would have
grabbed my phone and gotten it on video but, like I said, I was freaking out at the time.

Jay has started to give me some time to sleep at night
which makes me
like him a lot more, ha ha.
We have a nightly routine of bath, lotion,
diaper change, and then I nurse him to sleep and it has
worked wonderfully!
He sleeps from about 9pm to 2-3am.
Hallelujah!

I'm really looking forward to the next few months when
 his head control
gets a little better and I can
just prop him on my hip and get movin' around town.

Happy two month birthday my little chunk!

Someone is One Month Old today!

Holy smokes, it's been a month! One month ago,
I was getting very anxious and annoyed that I was
still pregnant and ended up trying everything in the book
to induce my labor. If I could have told
 myself something one month ago
 it would have been:
"self, GO TO SLEEP... for the love of God... Sleep NOW!"
In all seriousness, this has been both the longest and fastest
month of my life. We are so in love with
Jay and usually end up staring at him for the majority
of the day. He's so cute... I know I might be a little biased,
but really... try to look at the kid and not smile.
 I dare you =)

Jay Pearce McBride was born May 2 at 6:11pm.
7lb 6oz and 21.5in long

We had a waiting room filled with our family.
It was such a blessing to have
 everyone there for
 support throughout the day

My heart be still... Scottie LOVES to sit and stare at him
TIRED mom and dad

Like any normal Florida baby, we had to bring
him to the beach within his first
month of life.
He did really well and surprisingly LOVED the
life-vest and boat ride.
The windy beach was another story, though.
We will work on it...

Happy One month birthday to the sweetest, cutest, little man
 on this planet.
I am so excited to watch you grow =)

A nursery fit for a... err... little man?

Jay's nursery has slowly but surely come
together and is FINALLY complete.
Just in time for him to get here which could be any
day, but I have a bad feeling that he will make us
wait until after his due date. As much as I
would like to have him inherit
my promptness, I have
a feeling I won't be so lucky.

I've really had a blast getting everything together
for the nursery and making it into his own little Man Cave.
If anyone knows Scottie, they know
he loves the outdoors and is ALL boy.
I wanted to decorate the nursery with that
as my inspiration without looking like I purchased everything from
the Duck Dynasty line. I think I've succeeded and am
really happy about how everything turned out,
along with the fact that I didn't spend an arm
and a leg decorating.

Just a few more weeks and we get to fill this room
with our little boy =)
The suspense is killing me!

The wooden monogram is one of my favorite parts of this room.
I ordered it unfinished from Etsy and painted it navy to match
the rug and bedding

I painted this Buck head on to some pallets that
Scottie nailed together for me.

This wooden Snook is a really cool addition
to the nursery- I found it on Etsy!

Scottie had this lamp in his room growing up.
How cool that we can incorporate it
in the nursery!?

I just can't with these shoes. They were too cute NOT
to display

This Pottery Barn rocker is not only totally
adorable, but it was a special gift
from my childhood BFFL and makes
me think of her and the fam
every time I see it

This was another one of my craft projects.
Love this verse.

We found this inexpensive basket for all of the blankets
and sheets at Marshalls.

These numbers turned out great. I'm no Picasso, but those
stripes and polka-dots are
pretty amazing if I do say so myself.

I HAD to have a TV in his room for what I have heard
will be endless hours of feeding.
