Someone is One Month Old today!

Holy smokes, it's been a month! One month ago,
I was getting very anxious and annoyed that I was
still pregnant and ended up trying everything in the book
to induce my labor. If I could have told
 myself something one month ago
 it would have been:
"self, GO TO SLEEP... for the love of God... Sleep NOW!"
In all seriousness, this has been both the longest and fastest
month of my life. We are so in love with
Jay and usually end up staring at him for the majority
of the day. He's so cute... I know I might be a little biased,
but really... try to look at the kid and not smile.
 I dare you =)

Jay Pearce McBride was born May 2 at 6:11pm.
7lb 6oz and 21.5in long

We had a waiting room filled with our family.
It was such a blessing to have
 everyone there for
 support throughout the day

My heart be still... Scottie LOVES to sit and stare at him
TIRED mom and dad

Like any normal Florida baby, we had to bring
him to the beach within his first
month of life.
He did really well and surprisingly LOVED the
life-vest and boat ride.
The windy beach was another story, though.
We will work on it...

Happy One month birthday to the sweetest, cutest, little man
 on this planet.
I am so excited to watch you grow =)

A nursery fit for a... err... little man?

Jay's nursery has slowly but surely come
together and is FINALLY complete.
Just in time for him to get here which could be any
day, but I have a bad feeling that he will make us
wait until after his due date. As much as I
would like to have him inherit
my promptness, I have
a feeling I won't be so lucky.

I've really had a blast getting everything together
for the nursery and making it into his own little Man Cave.
If anyone knows Scottie, they know
he loves the outdoors and is ALL boy.
I wanted to decorate the nursery with that
as my inspiration without looking like I purchased everything from
the Duck Dynasty line. I think I've succeeded and am
really happy about how everything turned out,
along with the fact that I didn't spend an arm
and a leg decorating.

Just a few more weeks and we get to fill this room
with our little boy =)
The suspense is killing me!

The wooden monogram is one of my favorite parts of this room.
I ordered it unfinished from Etsy and painted it navy to match
the rug and bedding

I painted this Buck head on to some pallets that
Scottie nailed together for me.

This wooden Snook is a really cool addition
to the nursery- I found it on Etsy!

Scottie had this lamp in his room growing up.
How cool that we can incorporate it
in the nursery!?

I just can't with these shoes. They were too cute NOT
to display

This Pottery Barn rocker is not only totally
adorable, but it was a special gift
from my childhood BFFL and makes
me think of her and the fam
every time I see it

This was another one of my craft projects.
Love this verse.

We found this inexpensive basket for all of the blankets
and sheets at Marshalls.

These numbers turned out great. I'm no Picasso, but those
stripes and polka-dots are
pretty amazing if I do say so myself.

I HAD to have a TV in his room for what I have heard
will be endless hours of feeding.

Pinterest Worthy Baby Showers

I have been SO blessed to have so many caring, loving and creative friends.
I was lucky enough to have four beautiful baby showers
thrown for me and they all were SO Pinterest
Worthy- I could have died (for the baby's sake,
though, I contained myself).

****Disclaimer- I'm about to use the words: adorable, cute, and
beautiful a lot... so, sorry if you're big on using
various adjectives- those three pretty much sum up my showers...

My first shower was thrown for me by my closest girlfriends and I
was blown away with all the adorable little details
they paid attention to while planning this shower.
They had a HUGE spread of food that was so delicious (included were
some of my faves: mini corn dogs, Peppered Jam cracker dip,
and THE MOST ADORABLE
mini milk jugs and chocolate chip cookies).

How adorable is this mimosa bar?
These Milk Jugs and cookies were SO CUTE!!

How great of an idea was this?? It was so nice to have time to talk with my guests rather than spend the whole time opening presents
Can't handle the cuteness
Loved all my cute onesies from DonziMade
Loved these party favors to keep my little one from the germs when he arrives

My co-workers threw such a cute shower for me at work
where everyone brought me a
package of diapers. They added up real quick
and before I knew it I had enough diapers to
take care of this kid until he's like 3.
(Not really, but really).

My next baby shower was thrown for me from the sweetest women from my church.
So many people showed up and showered me with
presents that I hadn't even met. I was really overwhelmed with
how sweet and generous they all were
to be there for me. It was so special.

I could KICK myself for not taking pictures while I was there, but
please trust me when I say it was SO cute. The theme was
bow-ties and my favorite part was the mason jars wrapped
in a bow-tie ribbon for the lemonade bar.
Sidenote: the lemonade was on point...
shout-out to Publix!

Finally, my mom and I decided to venture
down to my hometown of
West Palm Beach to see some of our
old friends before I have this baby and am tied to my
house for the next 2 years (ha ha, j/k... I think?).  We had no idea
that they would surprise us with this baby shower
and I was SO surprised I was speechless.
Everything was so sweet and perfect and beautiful- I loved it so much.

I really have been so overwhelmed with how blessed I am to
have so many caring people in my
life. Thank you to everyone who came to my
showers and have made me feel
so special =)
